The Residenza Cannaregio in Venice, Italy was originally a 17th century monastery and has inherited a 'chiostro' structure with a typical internal court. In the early 19th century the building was a 'squero' where gondolas used to be built. The hotel is located in the picturesque Cannaregio area of Venice, near the Campo de Gheto Novo, the oldest Jewish settlement in Europe.
